Marriott Opens Tuesday

The lobby of the new Courtyard at Rookwood Exchange, opening Tuesday. Cindi Andrews/The Enquirer Marriott’s Courtyard Cincinnati Midtown will welcome its first guests Tuesday at Rookwood Exchange in Norwood. The 123-room property has 3,000 square feet of meeting space and all the upgrades available, according to Rookwood developer Jeff Anderson, CEO of Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate. Among them: a salt-water pool, Marriott’s new C-Bar and a fire-pit patio. The chain averages about 1,000 advance bookings for a new hotel, Anderson said, but Rookwood has more than 4,000 reservations and is already filled up for this weekend. As employees prepared for the opening with last-minute role-play Monday, an upcoming guest shed light on the hotel’s quick popularity. Lindsay Rhollins, who is getting married in late August, said she selected the new hotel for her guests because of its proximity to both her Hyde Park ceremony and Downtown reception. In addition, Rhollins said, parking is far cheaper than at Downtown hotels. Asked if there was any hesitation about choosing a hotel sight unseen, mom Nancy Rhollins said: “We’ve stayed at Courtyards before.”
