Xavier University officially opened its new Center for Veterans Affairs on Thursday.
The center is led by a Marine Corps veteran and provides support and resources for current students and alumni veterans.
XU officials say it will offer a quiet space with computers for studying as well as socializing with fellow veterans. Academic advisors and a licensed counselor are also available.
Xavier is a Yellow Ribbon school, meaning it helps cover the cost of tuition for eligible vets.
This semester, there are 125 students receiving veterans benefits.
